Seven countries bidding, twelve embryos gone, seventy head sold and not one led back to the barn. The third Welcome to Wilcor Sale turned a 30-cow German farmyard into the best Saturday night in European Holsteins.
The third Welcome to Wilcor Sale ran Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Cord Hormann’s Wilcor Holsteins in Warmsen, Lower Saxony — staged with Ferme Blondin of St-Placide, Quebec — and cleared 100% of the offering. Seventy live animals averaged €6,729, twelve embryos averaged €1,600, and Mattenhof Hanna Hinge topped the night at €20,000 to a Luxembourg–France–Netherlands partnership, according to results released by the sale organizers. Buyers from seven countries took cattle home
A hundred percent. Nothing walked back to the barn.
That is the number to start with, because every consignor and every sale manager in this business knows what it means.
Seventy head catalogued as live lots. Seventy head sold. No passouts, no protected reserves quietly holding a heifer back, no awkward pause while the auctioneer looks for one more bid. A €6,729 average on top of it — about CA$10,834 or US$7,806 at Saturday’s exchange rates.
Cord Hormann milks around 30 cows in Warmsen. Twelve Excellent, fourteen Very Good, nothing lower, on 70 hectares (The Bullvine’s profile of Hormann). A barn that size does not just produce a 70-head sale. It builds one — one relationship, one show, one phone call at a time.
The Quebec–Germany handshake showed up in the money
Ferme Blondin came in as partner and did not come empty-handed. Masterrind, the German breeding organization, listed the Canadians right there on the event as partner to the sale.
Four Blondin-prefix lots landed in the top fifteen: Blondin Lambda Lacey at €13,500 to Luxembourg, Blondin Triton Deloria P at €11,000 and Blondin Triton Della P at €10,400 to Germany, Blondin Armour Sunset at €9,700 to Germany. Two more Quebec-bred lots came under the Jacobs prefix of Ferme Jacobs, Cap-Santé — Jacobs Altitude Shady at €14,000 to Italy and Jacobs Altitude Shake Hands Red at €13,000 to Great Britain.
Six of the fifteen highsellers, carrying Canadian prefixes, sold in a German farmyard to buyers from four other countries. That is what a real international partnership looks like when it works.
And it was not built the week of the sale. Blondin Sires — Simon Lalande of Ferme Blondin, Dann Brady, and Nicolas Lalande, stud code 799 out of St-Placide — already co-owns Wilcor’s show string. Wilcor O’Kaliber Louella went Grand Champion and Intermediate Champion at the 52nd Schau der Besten in Verden this past February under the joint Wilcor Holsteins / Blondin Sires banner, with stablemate Wilcor Chief O’Katy taking Reserve after winning the whole thing the year before.
Win together in February. Sell together in August. Simple, and almost nobody executes it this cleanly.
Hanna Hinge tops it at €20,000
The high seller was Mattenhof Hanna Hinge, from the Swiss Mattenhof program at Iffwil, at €20,000 to a Luxembourg–France–Netherlands combination. Three countries, one cow, one bidding card.
Right behind her, Wilcor AM Audacious Miracle Red went to Great Britain at €15,000 — a Red at the very top of a modern type sale, which tells you exactly where that market sits now. Showbox-MS Hinge Jumanji followed at €14,200 to the Netherlands.
Then a genuine logjam: Wilcor Lambda O’Kaylee to France and Jacobs Altitude Shady to Italy, both at €14,000. Wilcor Major Lorena to Germany and Blondin Lambda Lacey to Luxembourg, both at €13,500. Jacobs Altitude Shake Hands Red to Great Britain at €13,000.
Wilcor’s own prefix put five in the top fifteen. Switzerland’s Mattenhof, the American Showbox-MS with two lots, and GenoSource of Blairstown, Iowa (The Bullvine’s GenoSource profile) filled the rest — Genosource Lambda Caught In Heat heading to Ireland at €10,000.
Great cattle, great families, and the sale ring did the rest.

The buyer flags on the organizers’ results post read like a European map: Germany five of the top fifteen, Great Britain three, Ireland two, Italy one, plus Luxembourg, France, and the Netherlands appearing on the top lot together and again on their own lots.
Ten of the fifteen highsellers left Germany after the sale. On a Saturday evening. At a 30-cow farm.
Add the twelve embryos at €1,600 each — every one of them sold — and the offering moved somewhere around €490,000 all in.
The names on the pedigrees the crowd came for
Eleven of the fifteen highsellers traced to five sires: three Lambda daughters and two each from Hinge, Sidekick, Altitude, and Triton. Lambda is Farnear Delta-Lambda. Hinge is Haveitall Blakely Hinge-ET, a Westcoast GD Blakely son out of Duckett Parfect Holly.
Both Triton lots carried the P — polled cattle sitting comfortably inside the top eleven. Two Red or Red-carrier lots made the top fifteen too, including the second-highest seller.
Nobody in that barn was treating Red or polled as a novelty. They were bidding on them.
Give the crowd its credit
The organizers thanked the Hormann family for the trust, Ferme Blondin for the partnership and the cattle out of their breeding program, and then the group that actually makes a night like this work: buyers, underbidders, visitors, helpers, and partners — on the grounds and online.
That is the honest read on a 100% clearance. Somebody has to be sitting on the bench, or on a phone in Ireland, willing to go one more bid on lot 47. Seventy times over.
Hormann launched this sale in 2022 with 60 lots and grew it past 90 by 2024. Edition three sold every head in the ring, in euros, to seven countries, with Quebec cattle in the top end.
Fourth edition is going to be a hot ticket.
