The dairy world’s spotlight shone brightly on Madison, Wisconsin, this week as the Midwest Spring National Holstein Show 2025 wrapped up with a thrilling victory for Premierpoint Mas Carmona-ET (Master), who claimed both Senior and Grand Champion honors under judge Pat Lundy’s discerning eye. The April 23-27 event at the Wisconsin Dairy Showcase drew top exhibitors and breeding programs, delivering a masterclass in Holstein excellence while spotlighting rising stars in the junior divisions.
Open Show Dominance: Mastery in the Senior Ring
Lundy faced no easy task evaluating 194 entries across 12 classes, but the 4-year-old Premierpoint Mas Carmona-ET (Master) did not doubt her supremacy. Owned by the powerhouse trio of Maple-Leigh, Arizona Dairy, and Grai-Rose Cattle (Delavan, WI), this daughter of Master blended “depth of rib, dairy strength, and a textbook udder” to rise above a stacked senior division.

Hot on her heels was the Reserve Senior & Grand Champion Golden-Oaks Temptres-Red-ET (Unstopabull), a 5-year-old exhibited by MilkSource (Kaukauna, WI). Lundy praised her “unmatched persistence of quality” across lactations. At the same time, third-place honors went to MilkSource’s aged cow Corlane Unix Salisbury (Unix), whose “venerable frame and mammary resilience” earned Honorable Mention.
Junior Excellence: Schmocker Sisters Shine
The junior division proved future-focused, with Tessa & Stella Schmocker (Whitewater, WI) leading the charge. Their lifetime production cow Luck-E Merjack Asalia (Merjack) seized Senior & Grand Champion honors, with Judge Lundy noting her “balance of productivity and show-ring polish.” Not content with one banner, the sisters also claimed Honorable Mention Grand Champion with Go-Sho Tatoos In Jericho-ET (Tatoo) alongside Sadie Kropf-a, a 1st winter senior 2-year-old hailed for her “depth of for rib and dairy character.”
Minnesota’s Calvin Bening (Arlington) turned heads with Reserve Senior & Grand Champion Budjon-Vail Drm Sunshine-ET (Doorman), a 2nd lactation standout blending “youthful vigor and mammary maturity.”
Exhibitor Accolades: MilkSource & Go-Sho Command the Ring
MilkSource LLC (Kaukauna, WI) reinforced its industry leadership, sweeping Premier Breeder & Exhibitor titles. Their Intermediate Champion Budjon-Vail EyeC Chalack-ET (Eye Candy), a 1st junior 2-year-old-epitomized the operation’s “laser focus on structural integrity and udder futures,” per Lundy.
Not to be outdone, Go-Sho Cattle Co (Whitewater, WI) claimed Premier Exhibitor (Heifer Show), with Ocean-View Genetics (Deerfield, WI) earning Premier Breeder (Heifer Show). The heifer divisions saw fierce competition, culminating in Junior Champion Ryan-Vu Awesome Rapture (Awesome), a spring yearling owned by Dylan & Cameron Ryan (Fond du Lac, WI) praised for her “length of neck and spring of rib.”
Sire Power: Mastery Meets Momentum
The show underscored the genetic clout of Master and Unstopabull, whose progeny dominated senior placings. Emerging sire Tatoo made waves through Go-Sho’s Honorable Mention winner, while Awesome and Warrior stamped their authority in the heifer ranks. Judge Lundy highlighted the “striking consistency” of daughters from Unix and Doorman, noting their impact on udder quality and longevity.
