World Classic 2012 Highlights

World Classic 2012A capacity crowd packed the Alliante Energy Center for the 2012 World Classic.  Coming off the Planet Holstein Sale that exploded to an outstanding $40,853 sale average, expectations were high.  While not outperforming the Planet sale, the World Classic did average an excellent $33,111.

Leading the way were two red heifers. First was Elm-Park Geisha.  The Colt-P from the Golden-Perk Rae family (2012 Gold Dam Finalist) attracted loads of attention and brought the hammer down at $122,000, purchased by David Johns.  Geisha is a homozyguos polled heifer that is sure to generate loads of embryo interest. The second high seller was MS M-P Dak 4777 Pie-Red.  This fancy Dakker daughter sold for $115,000 and is the #1 GTPI Red animal in the USA.

Attracting a final bid of $75,000 was a first choice female Mogul from Benner Fork Janardan. A grand daughter of former #1 LPI Benner Planet Jakova this heifer has outstanding parent average LPI as well as TPI.  With her De-Su Fork dam due soon, expectations are high.

It was a day for red’s (read – Blondin Redman Seisme-Red Named Champion of 2012 International Red & White Show) as choice from Lookout Pesce Mag Sarah-Red sold for $72,000.  Lookout and Pesce have been selling many high animals here lately with their sale topping consignment at the Gillette Visions 2012 sale with RALMA-RH MANOMAN BANJO VG-88-2yr (Read Gillette Visions 2012 Sale – Great People, Great Cattle = Great Results).  This time is a  Colt 45 from a Magna P daughter of Charpentier Mr Burns Sisi-Red, the show winning daughter from the Glen Drummond Aero Flower family (watch for our article about this outstanding cow family).

Selling for $57,000 was DE-SU ECOYNE 2043. With a GPA TPI of +2501 and GPA LPI of +3642 this heifer is one of the highest anywhere in the world (#19 GTPI in the USA).  This heifer has DGV values 9% higher than her already world leading indexes (DGV LPI +3967).  She has some of the highest production, durability and health & fertility numbers I have ever seen.  There is no doubt this heifer will have an outstanding udder.  (Read more –The Investors Guide to World Dairy Expo).

Also attracting a lot of interest was SPEEK-NJ ATWD DELLA RAE selling for $40,000.  Here you have a marriage of the Adeens and the Roxies.  The number of World Dairy Expo winners in this pedigree is outstanding.  You have a potent type sire stack with the genomic test to back it all up.  The interesting part about this lot is that it wasn`t only her that was up for sale.  She sold with 5 pregnancies and 4 transfers.
