Class III futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were down on profit taking. April was $.20 lower at $15.36, May was down $.33 at $15.53, June was $.26 lower at $15.86, and July was down $.27 at $16.40.
Cash cheese blocks were $.01 lower at $1.52. There were two loads sold, one at $1.51 and one at $1.52. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.525. Barrels were down $.015 at $1.48. There were 13 loads sold, all at $1.48. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.485.
Butter was $.0225 higher at $2.15. There were five loads sold, including one at $2.15. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $2.1275. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $2.15.
Nonfat dry milk held at $.80. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $.79. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $.80.
The Global Dairy Trade index was up for the second event in a row, gaining 1.6% to close at $3,005 per ton. Rennet casein was up 6.9% and anhydrous milk fat was 2.5% higher, while butter milk powder dropped 12.2% and cheddar was 4.4% lower. The next even is scheduled for April 18th.
