Ohio Exhibitor Wins Junior Showmanship Division at 2015 All-American Dairy Show

Olivia Finke of London, Ohio, rose above 119 competitors to become champion junior showman during the 18th Youth Showmanship Contest during the 2015 All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

The top 10 were chosen and others received honorable mentions. The Champion Junior Showman received a $50 cash award courtesy of Harry E. & Aliene Thompson, Fountain Farm, and a custom embroidered Director’s Chair compliments of the All-American Dairy Show. The top 10 showmen received:  a backpack compliments of Bock’s Identi Company; a neck medallion courtesy of Fight Bac, Dr. Geoffrey Westfall; a custom embroidered blanket courtesy of Hoards Dairyman, Corey Geiger, Managing Editor; and a canvas tote bag courtesy of Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program.

All participants received a coupon for a free milkshake, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association.
Joe Stitt of Belleville, Mifflin County, Pa., evaluated the junior division.

7th – Parker Miller, 11, Kennedyville, Md.
8th – Kolby Stoltzfus, 10, East Earl, Lancaster Co., Pa.
9th – Ainsley Sellers, 10, Lebanon, Lebanon Co., Pa.
10th – Eva Dumas, 9, Annville, Lebanon Co., Pa.

Madisyn Wright, 11, of DeKalb Junction, New York, was the highest placing Milking Shorthorn showman. Wright received an embroidered jacket, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Milking Shorthorn Society.  First place Guernsey showman Stoltzfus received a $50 cash prize, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Junior Guernsey Association. Alexander Miller, 10, Kennedyville, Maryland, was the highest placing Ayrshire showman. Miller received a show halter, sponsored by the National Ayrshire Youth Fund. Klink was the highest-placing Pennsylvania Jersey showman and Gilbert was the top Brown Swiss showman. Ryan Telesz, 11, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, was the highest placing Jersey showman. Telesz received a show halter, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Jersey Breeders Association. Highest placing Brown Swiss showman Miller received the H. Francis Kennedy Award, an embroidered travel bag, sponsored by the James L. Kennedy Family. Highest placing Red and White showman Sellers received a banner, sponsored by MD-Hillbrook, Chris and Jennifer Hill.

The 52nd All-American Dairy Show, the world’s largest dairy show, runs September 12-17 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. This year’s show features 22 shows in six days, the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show, nearly 2,800 animals and more than 1,300 exhibitors from across the nation.
