On August 31, 2012 at the farm in Ayr, Ontario the complete Ebyholme herd of Clarence, Brian, Don Eby and families was dispersed. Encans Boulet Inc., the auctioneers, report that 114 females averaged $4550. The top two sellers were Goldwyn daughters with Ebyholme Goldwyn Marcia Ex 94 2E bringing $31,500 going to Pleasant Nook Holsteins and Jerseys and Ebyholme Goldwyn Mello VG 89 selling for $26,000 to a Quebec buyer. Thirteen descendants of Hillcroft Leader Melanie averaged $6938. Thirty-five descendants of the Bell family grossed over $143,000 (over 27% of the sale total). Nine daughters of Goldwyn averaged $8022, including the two high sellers. An overflow crowd was on hand to recognize the end of almost six decades of very successful breeding at Ebyholme. Ebyholme has earned three Master Breeder Shields from Holstein Canada and could earn an additional shield from animals sold today that their future owners will take to new heights.
