Judge Dominique Fortier (Fortale Holstein, St-Christophe-d’Arthabaska), an 11-year official with credentials from Expo Printemps, the Ontario Fall Show, Western Dairy Showcase, and international assignments in France, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Belgium, worked through 49 head — 35 junior, 14 senior — before noon at Le Suprême Laitier. Associate JP Charest kept ring notes. What followed was a sweep story on one end of the barn, a proof story on the other, and a Grand Champion coronation that keeps a Pierre Boulet cow at the top of the Canadian Red & White conversation.
Grand Champion: Intense Devour Gorgeous stays on the mountain
Pierre Boulet’s Intense Devour Gorgeous (HOCANF120551205) took the 5-Year-Old class with Best Udder and then walked out with the purple banner. Fortier’s Grand call was uncomplicated: “beaucoup de balancement, beaucoup de tempérament laitier, avec un excellent système mammaire” — advantage on width, height, and mammary quality over a strong reserve. Tinber Alpha Superbe (Blondin Sires / Ferme Blondin), the Intermediate Champion out of the Spring 2-Yr class, was named Reserve Grand on balance and dairy strength. Sejane Altitude Karamel (Ferme Garondale), the Reserve Intermediate and Junior 3-Yr winner, rounded out the podium as Honourable Mention.
The Intermediate champion itself was the most contested championship of the morning — Fortier pulled four cows to the middle and gave Superbe the nod on mammary quality, foot vein, and locomotion, with Karamel reserve on front-end width and Garay Ambrose Belleza (Crackholm / Hodglynn) taking Intermediate HM off her Milking Senior Yearling win and Best Udder.
Junior Championship: Malic’s Damina wins it “easily”
In a heifer show that Fortier repeatedly described as “encore une très belle classe de jeunesse,” Malic Ringtone Damina (Ferme Malic / Ponderosa) won Winter Heifer and then the Junior Championship on what the judge called an easy call — dairy temperament stretched through every part, openness, and rib. Cerpolait Rompen Dairy Queen(Ferme Cerpolait), the Fall Heifer winner, was Reserve on length and udder texture; JM Valley Alpha Mia (JM Valley / MB Luckylady) took HM out of the Spring class on balance and dairy character.
The banner story: Malic sweeps all four
The scoreboard tells the structural story of the day. Ferme Malic / Ponderosa Holsteins of Lévis won every banner on offer:
- Junior Breeder — 45 points (Malic), ahead of Stevio (18) and Rougette (17)
- Junior Exhibitor — 45 points, ahead of Rougette (27) and Steve Boulet (18)
- Premier Breeder — 60 points, ahead of a Pierstein/Jolibois tie at 25
- Premier Exhibitor — 60 points, ahead of Garondale (58) and Pierre Boulet (45)
A four-banner sweep at Le Suprême Red & White is rare air. Malic also took Junior Breeder’s Herd — the only entered group, but Fortier still put on record that the group showed “beaucoup de tempérament laitier dans toutes ses parties, beaucoup d’ouverture.”
Sire read: Altitude-Red is the story, Alpha is the depth
The Premier Sire race wasn’t close. Farnear Altitude-Red-ET finished the senior side with 125 points — more than double Blondin Alpha at 50, with Progenesis Ambrose third at 29. On the junior side, Blondin Alpha, Farnear Altitude, and Midas-Touch Ringtone were the three named. That mirrors what happened in the ring: Altitude-Red daughters won or placed top-three in nearly every heifer class (Malic Altitude Dove, Anne, Anne-Sofie, Destiny, Chaluka Altitude Samia, Sejane Altitude Karamel, Jolibois Fran Altitude, Laforstar Altitude Platine, Macajo Altitude-Red Fiesta), and Ringtone daughters (Damina, Doudoune, Ester) anchored Malic’s junior sweep. Alpha’s ceiling is now proven at the Intermediate level via Superbe, with Blondin Alpha Shahira, Fleury Alpha Mickaëlle, Valrick Alpha Trinity, and Pierstein Alpha Jazzberry keeping the sire visible across five heifer classes.

What to watch heading into World Dairy Expo and the Royal
Three lines to track. First, Ferme Malic’s junior string — Damina, Ester, Doudoune, Anne, Anne-Sofie, Destiny — is deep enough on Ringtone and Altitude that a Malic banner run at the Royal is plausible if the herd travels. Second, Tinber Alpha Superbe is now a legitimate Intermediate contender on the North American circuit; Fortier’s read on mammary and foot quality is the kind of call that repeats under other judges. Third, Gorgeous’s window — she was a comfortable Grand today on maturity, but the 5-Yr class is where Red & White cows either extend a career or hand the mountain over. Expect Pierre Boulet to point her at Madison. The under-card, especially Sejane Altitude Karamel and Garay Ambrose Belleza, will decide whether the intermediate depth in Quebec follows.
