Milk Futures Higher Tuesday in Chicago

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Tuesday milk futures were higher and cash dairy markets were higher except for cheese. By the afternoon Class III prices were all in positive territory with the average for the first six months of 2019 rising six cents to $15.17. December Class Three milk was up $.05 at $13.85.  January was up $.11 to $14.31. February was up $.05 at $14.59.  March was up $.04 at $14.97. The milk futures from April through next November ranged from zero to nine cents higher. The Class IV market saw similar activity with their average in the first half of the next calendar year rising three cents to $15.62.

Dry whey was up $.0225 at  $.4725 cents per pound. No sales were recorded. Forty-pound blocks were unchanged at $1.41 per pound.  No sales were recorded. Barrels were unchanged at $1.32 per pound.  No sales were recorded. Grade AA Butter was up $.0150 at $2.20 per pound.  Seven sales were recorded from $2.18 to $2.20. Nonfat dry milk was up $.0075 at $.9425 per pound.  No sales were recorded.
