A family is distraught after a fire ripped through a barn just southeast of London, Ont., on Friday night, killing scores of young animals. On Friday night, a fire broke out at Sleegerdale Farms, situated at 4266 Westchester Bourne, just southeast of London. The fire caused no casualties, however a former employee informed CTV News London that 37 young stock, including calves and heifers, died in the fire, while their major herd escaped. The London Fire Department and Malahide Fire Services were among the stations that assisted. The origin of the fire and the extent of the damage are presently unknown.
