Eligible cows across the nation are ranked based on pounds of combined fat and protein per day in milk. The top ranking 1% are designated as National Elite Performers, and then the next top 1% from each of the nine regions are honored as Regional Elite Performers. All Cows enrolled in TriStarSM are automatically evaluated each year. Elite Performer recognition is a lifetime award, and appears on a cow’s official pedigree, listed underneath her milk production records.
The Holstein Association USA has released the lists of National and Regional Elite Performers for 2015. To qualify for an Elite Performer Award, a cow must meet the following standards: Complete at least three lactations in a Holstein Association USA Tri-Star participating herd, with the most recent lactation completed in the previous calendar year (Be 87% RHA or higher, Classified VG85 or higher)
