Greg Silva from Select Sires Member Cooperative and Emily Middleton-Gyomory from CentralStar Cooperative were distinguished at Select Sires’ annual Trusted Advisor Conference held in early May. This 2024 conference, convened in Columbus, Ohio, saw over 200 specialists in attendance, all aimed at refining their consultative and analytical prowess. Silva earned the title of Select Mating Service® (SMS®) Specialist of the Year, while Middleton-Gyomory was named the Select Reproductive Solutions® (SRS®) Specialist of the Year.
“Dairies across the U.S. lean on Select Sires consultants to troubleshoot challenges, direct change, and exceed expectations,” remarked Jeff Reidman, vice president of Latin America marketing and dairy sire services, Select Sires Inc. “We are proud to honor Greg and Emily for their immense contributions and recognize their expansive skill sets.”
Greg Silva has orchestrated the mating of over one million cows and has similarly sold over one million semen units in his 28 years with All West/Select Sires and Select Sires Member Cooperative. Residing in Hanford, California, Silva serves herds throughout the Central Valley. A seven-time recipient of Select Sires’ President’s Club award and a five-time Super Achiever award winner, Silva’s contributions extend beyond genetic consultation. He is actively engaged in youth agricultural programs like 4-H and FFA and has presided over dairy cattle shows in the western U.S. and internationally in Japan, Australia, and Costa Rica.

Emily Middleton-Gyomory acts as a regional consulting manager for eastern Michigan and nearby areas, with a specialization in analyzing herd performance to drive data-driven decisions. Her extensive research in bovine reproduction culminated in the creation of the high fertility cycle model, now a standard in the industry. Before her tenure at CentralStar Cooperative, she worked in dairy nutrition, a field in which she continues to integrate her knowledge to enhance her client services. Moreover, Middleton-Gyomory is instrumental in training and developing specialists in Michigan and Indiana.
