Condition Update of Patricia Stiles and Reese Burdette – June 10th

Pr-purplePatricia had a most successful 4 hour surgery yesterday. She had more cleaning of her burns and some split-level skin grafting of her own skin…this is a great thing. Most of this grafting was done on the tops of her hands and her lower arms. Most of the grafting from the last surgery did not take – which they tell the family that it isn’t unusual…so they exiled this and prepared the skin for grafting for her next surgery. Patricia’s feet are healing nicely as is her face. She continues to battle pneumonia which after quite a few days of a high fever they decided to switch her antibiotic… All-in-all, Patricia is handling her surgeries well. The doctors and her respitory therapist continue to battle getting her breathing comfortable and in sync with the vent. This is a constant battle each day and just part of being a burn victim.
Reese is who we all need to focus on today…she has a very big surgery ahead of her today- roughly 4 hours of surgery. Please pray that the doctors have healing hands and that Reese stays strong today. This little girl has proven she is a fighter but all the support and prayers sure would help today.
