CDX founders, Jordon Underhill and Talo Tamminga had to be amazed at the massive number of dairy enthusiasts who came through the doors in droves, converging on the three Tradeshow Halls, Dairy Classroom and Cow Coliseum.
“The booth traffic is incredible” enthused exhibitors from all facets of the dairy industry. The combination of new innovations and tried and true stalwarts from equipment to consumables inspired an “old-home” week atmosphere. There was a continuous buzz in the brightly lit open areas as more-than-capacity crowds moved elbow-to-elbow to be educated and inspired at this inaugural Canadian Dairy Xpo showcase.
Attendees repeatedly expressed appreciation for Xpo organizers’ vision of staying true to the dairy producer. The sheer volume and variety of dairy related food, displays and events was impressive. MC of the CDX Dairy Classroom, Andy Dellava promised “If you’re looking to take your dairy business to the next level, today is going to be the most exciting and valuable day of 2013.” There are many from Day 1 who would agree.
One particular highlight of the CDX Dairy Classroom was the Global Dairy Summit. The wide ranging discussion was informal but also informative, as a panel of 5 from the UK, Poland, Brazil, the US and Canada shared the microphone from comfortable couches and chairs onstage. All were passionate about and committed to their dairy operations and despite wide-ranging dairy setups, enthusiastically shared their insights on their particular challenges and opportunities.
In one morning of speakers, those fortunate enough to be in the audience could take home best practices, new ideas and innovative tactics for everything from High Immune Response (HIR) genetics and Amino Acid Balancing nutrition to the engagement, effectiveness and excitement of Social Media. The especially lively presentation from CowSignals was packed with take-home ideas answering the question, “What does the cow want?” No wonder the program drew standing room only crowds.
February 7th, is the second and closing day and already Dairy Xpo has earned the designation, “Must-See” in every respect. Congratulations to Dairy Xpo for providing the ultimate interactive face-to-face dairy experience in Stratford. There is no doubt that this good news will continue to spread far and wide with iHigh live streaming. “Canadian Dairy Xpo has definitely found the “X”po Factor!”
