Summer Internship Opportunity at Center For Dairy Excellence

There are many reasons to be excited and passionate about what’s going on in the dairy industry, especially in Pennsylvania. College students can gain hands-on insight and experience within the industry by applying for the 2015 summer internship at the Center for Dairy Excellence located in Harrisburg, PA.

Interns will oversee the Farm Open House events, help with numerous educational programs, and attend industry meetings and conferences to gain exposure to the many facets of the dairy industry. Applicants should have strong communications, interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as be proficient in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel software programs. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the dairy industry is also preferred.

“This internship gives college students an opportunity to experience the various parts of what the Pennsylvania dairy industry has to offer,” Emily Yeiser, dairy initiatives manager at the Center for Dairy Excellence said, “We provide a well-rounded program that involves getting on farms, meeting industry professionals and also taking part in outreach events.”

“My experience created endless networking opportunities and challenged me to use the existing knowledge I had and apply it to different perspectives within the industry.,” Elizabeth Canuup, former 2014 summer intern, stated, “The internship allows you to see the dairy industry in a whole new light and help you discover new opportunities for the future.”

Resumes, cover letters and three references need to be submitted to the Center for Dairy Excellence c/o Emily Yeiser 2301 North Cameron St., Harrisburg, PA., 17110 by November 1, 2014. The center will also have representation at the Penn State and Delaware Valley Agriculture Career Fairs. Interviews will be conducted at the Harrisburg office before Thanksgiving.
