Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) Specialists Meet For Advanced Training

Select Sires logoMore than 50 professional Select Reproductive Solutions™ (SRS™) specialists from Select Sires’ member organizations and Select Sires GenerVations gathered for the annual SRS Conference held June 2-5 in St. Louis, Mo., to share ideas and learn more about the latest in reproductive technology. Hosted by Prairie State/Select Sires, the four-day conference incorporated both classroom and on-farm training.

“Besides the educational aspects, the conference is a great networking event that allows the SRS specialists from across the federation to see what others with similar responsibilities are doing,” stated Dr. Ray Nebel, vice president of technical service programs. “We had the opportunity to hear from Select Sires experts as well as reproduction and nutrition research scientists on a variety of important topics. The team challenge activity is always a highlight, as well.”

More than 50 professional Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) specialists attended this year’s SRS Conference, hosted by Prairie State/Select Sires in St. Louis, Mo.

The SRS conference featured sessions on achieving peak milk production, transition feeding, troubleshooting, supervising employees, inventory management, software training, mycotoxins and activity and health monitoring systems.

Outside of the classroom, SRS specialists participated in the annual RePRO Analysis™ challenge. Attendees were split into small teams and worked together to evaluate a dairy and present their findings to the entire conference. Similar to Dairy Challenge, this real-world experience allows SRS specialists to collaborate with their peers from around the country. Select Sires would like to thank Westridge Dairy, Red Bud, Ill. and Riegel Farms, Washington, Mo. for taking part in the conference and the Purina Animal Nutrition Center, Gray Summit, Mo. for providing a conference location and presenting the latest in nutritional research.
