River Valley Farm Adds New Director of Sales

River Valley Farm today announced the addition of Michael Hurst as the director of sales for the 7JE5000 series of sires co-marketed with Select Sires.

In this newly created position, Hurst will play a key role in the development of the River Valley Farm sales program to help meet the needs of customers and growing demand of 7JE5000 sires.

Hurst has nearly two decades of experience in the agricultural industry. He most recently was a regional sales manager for Semex USA. In that role, Hurst managed a team of sales specialist and helped develop the company’s Jersey Horizon’s program.

Hurst graduated in 1994 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with a Master of Science in Animal Breeding and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.

In June 2014, River Valley Farm and Select Sires launched their 7JE5000 collaboration, giving Select Sires the largest Jersey sampling program in the world. The partnership comprises high-genomic young sires and several high-type sons from the show-winning cows of River Valley Farm.
