Milk is murder, or so say protesters outside downtown Vancouver dairy conference

null

Agribusiness representatives confronted by a bloody milk carton outside the B.C. Dairy Conference taking place in Vancouver.

PETA supporters wanted passersby to know some of the techniques used in the production process.

“Every carton of milk contains a hidden ingredient, and that’s a lifetime of deprivation and suffering for mother cows and the calves who are stolen from them,” PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman said in a media alert. “PETA is calling on consumers everywhere to swap cruelly produced dairy foods for healthy, humane plant-based milks, yogurts, and cheeses.”

Perhaps because of the cold snap of Arctic air, PETA didn’t employ its oft-used tactic of having young, scantily clad women posing for the cameras.

That might account for why this protest didn’t generate quite as much attention as previous demonstrations.
