TRANSCRIPT (edited): Opportunities remain in milk powder.

Is the U.S. dairy industry making good progress in Vietnam?

Today, U.S. dairy industry exports to Vietnam have a number one market share for skim milk powder and whey, and it is our job to keep that position. The United States has a very good reputation in food quality. When Vietnamese people think about U.S. food products, they don’t have any worries about the quality. They are willing to pay for a little bit higher price to get U.S. products.

Will we see continued growth?

We have been growing about 20% in consumption annually for the last four years, and this trend is expected to continue through 2018.

What are the greatest opportunities for USDEC member companies?

Mostly milk powder, especially skim milk powder along with heat stable and whole milk powder. Members should look at the Vietnam market and whey PC (protein concentrate) because 2014 is the first year we went through a record 900 metric tons of WPC exported to Vietnam. The Vietnamese have about one million babies every year, so also look at infant formula.
