Boop’s Beloved Holstein Wins Champion

J&K-Vue Goldwyn Glamour, exhibited by Douglas Boop of Millmont, Union County, brought home Grand Champion honors from the 2017 Premier National Junior Holstein Show held during the 2017 All-American Dairy Show on Monday, September 18, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and Complex Center in Harrisburg.

Boop’s 150,000 Lb. J&K-Vue Goldwyn Glamour was also named Senior Champion by judge Chris Hill of Thurmont, Md. before competing for Grand Champion. This was J&K-Vue Goldwyn Glamour’s third grand champion title in her show career.

Douglas, 21, of Heart and Soul Holsteins, is a senior at Penn State University studying Animal Science. He enjoys farming and participating as an active member of Penn State’s Dairy Science Club.

Boop also had the Reserve Champion Holstein with MS Andis GW Astr-ET.

Intermediate Champion went to Tyler Shaw of Williamsburg, Blair Co. with his senior three-year-old cow linden locj sd Pandora. Matthew Boop of Millmont, Union Co. claimed with Reserve Intermediate Champion with his junior two-year-old cow Heart&Soul Sammy Ricki.

Junior Champion honors went to Allison Galton of Nunda, N.Y. with her spring yearling heifer Vailwood DRMN Sigrid. Reserve Junior Champion was the winter heifer calf Hilrose Solomon Pineapple exhibited by Caleb McGee of Clearfield, Clearfield Co.
