Virginia Sale of Stars averages $2278

The annual Virginia Sale of Stars took place and averaged $2,278 on 101 full lots. The sale was co-managed by the Virginia Holstein Association, Landis Marketing and Daniel Brandt.

The high selling lot was a choice, Lot 3 cosigned by Melvin Ronk of Roanoke, VA. Selling was a 1st choice female from the following pregnancies and transfers; 3 Mr Welcome Hill Tango pregnancies due in March and 2 more transfers in July. Also was 10 Coyne-Farms Srock Mack-ET transfers due in July. The lot sold for $7,200.

High live seller was Lot 5, Clear-Echo Num Uno 2832-ET, consigned by Clear Echo Farm c/o Kevin Peck. She is a Numero Uno daughter of Clear-Echo M-O-M 2213-ET VG-86. She was purchased by Ronnie Thomas, Dr. Mitchell Parks and Harry Schaapman for $6,000.

The much anticipated Lot 1, Harvue Windhammer Franki-ET, consigned by Harvue Farms sold for $5,000. The lot was a fancy show-age Windhammer Winter Calf out of Harvue Foxy Lady-ET VG-87. The next two dams are Harvue Dundee Foxy-ET EX-91 and the 2X World Dairy Expo Supreme Champion, Harvue Roy Frosty EX-97.

Lot 7 – Ms Welcome Hill Tobi-ET sold for $4,100 and is due in November to Shan

Lot 63 – Rilara Aftrshock Alda Flair sold for $4,000

Lot 2 – Reg-Mer MP Matilda*PO sold for $4,700, a Mitey P whose 2nd dam is Frosty!

Lot 12 – A Red & White Attitude heifer calf that is a potential 6th generation EX sold for $4,900

Lot 10 – Kulp-Galton Shottle Rose-ET, a potential 16th generation EX sold for $3,900

Lot 77 – Car-J Braxton Goddess, who is a potential generation VG or EX sold for $3,100

Lot 40 – Jareco Hero Plum-ET, a potential 6th generation EX sold for $3,000
