18983_1587391424834393_17468826445906885_nA huge crowed was on hand for the dispersal of Trent Valley Holsteins herd owned by Coughlin Bros.  The sale averaged an outstanding $7298 (unofficial) on 98 Holstein lots.

Topping the $41,500 was Trent Valley Goldchip Abra 6, a fancy September 2014 “Gold Chip” heifer calf from the Allie family who sold to Lilyking Farm, Glenburnie, Ont., Trekili Holsteins, Napanee, Ont., and Bonnechere Holsteins, Renfrew, Ont. She was one of 16 daughters of the prolific brood cow Kingsway Dundee Abra Codabra Ex-90-USA) that totalled $194,500 for the decedents selling in the sale. Abra Codabra, who was All-Canadian summer yearling in 2007 and has records to 222-231-230% BCA, completes seven generations of Excellent or Very Good. Abra Codabra is from the noted Kingsway Terrason Allie (Ex-95-2E-2*), the “Terrason” who was Reserve All-Canadian senior 3-year-old in 2006. Also coming from this family was the day’s third highest seller at $31,000 was Lot 1, Kingsway Goldwyn Abba Dabba-ET VG89-CDN/EX90-US. Abba Dabba is a Goldwyn from Kingsway Dundee Abra Codabra VG 87. Her second dam is Kingsway Terrason Allie EX95-2E, followed by five more generations of EX and VG. She was purchased by Tim Abbott, VT.  This 5-year-old “Goldwyn”, with 10,400 kg milk, 3.9% fat, 3.3% protein (228-238-233), was Reserve All-Canadian 4-H intermediate calf in 2010 and grand champion at Autumn Opportunity Show in 2013 as a senior 3-year-old.

Second high seller was Lot 45 bringing $35,000. McIntosh Xmas T EX94 is a 5 year old for 2015. She is a Fieldhouse Dundee Dunner from a VG85 Leduc. She was purchased by Budjon & Vail, WI.Honourable Mention All-Ontario 4-year-old last year and bred to “Doorman”, she has records to 15,092 kg milk, 4.0% fat, 3.1% protein (300-329-297) and is backed by four Very Good dams.

Selling for $30,000 was Lookout Advent Flicka Red (VG-89), a 5-year-old “Advent” who completes 11 generations of Very Good or Excellent in the A Miss Cochran Garnet (Ex-4*) family. Honourable Mention All-American Red & White 4-year-old in 2013, she has records to 13,346 kg milk, 3.4% fat, 2.9% protein (279-258-256).

Fourth high seller, bringing $24,200 was Lot 56, Trent-Valley Atwood Vive. Vive is a July 2014 Atwood from Koopycrest Jasper Vivian EX93-4E. The second dam is an EX-8* Outside. She was purchased by Jordan & Whitney Ebert, WI.

Rounding out the top five high sellers $19,800 was added Lot Eastriver Goldwyn Deb. She is a Goldwyn Junior 3 Year Old from Homestead Astronomical Deb EX95-3E. She was purchased by Chris Hill & Matt Boop, MD.
