Ruivinha, elected the best Holstein cow of the black and white variety at the exhibition, competed for the title with the Queli Disco Guinther jersey breed animals, owned by Carlos Jacob Wallauer, and with Constentation Isis Successor, by Alessandro and Marisa Dekkers, a Holstein cow. red and white variety. This trial, conducted by the two official judges of the event, Carl Phoenix and Stephen Borland, marked the official closing of “Agroleite 2022 – Reunions”.
After the announcement, Ronald Elgersma, one of the animal’s creators, was all emotion. Ronald, who came from Arapoti, says that Ruivinha participated in two other exhibitions in 2022 and in one of them he did not win the big championship. The producer reports that this did not make him discouraged and he kept all the special care, as he recognizes the potential of his cow. “Each exhibition we come to is like a game that starts from zero to zero. The judge might not like our cow and we have to accept it,” he mentions.
The double championship at Agroleite is another achievement in Ruivinha’s trajectory. The cow is the first animal in Brazil to achieve the excellent rating of 97 twice, in the fifth and sixth calving, the maximum score for a cow above four calves. She is the third generation of excellent cows in her family and maintains productions of over 60 kg of milk a day. “We respect all the other cows that we find at the shows, because without a doubt the range of cows for competition has only been increasing, but through her classification, following her development and maturation, we knew she had the potential to arrive at this moment”, says the breeder.
Ronald Elgersma is keen to emphasize that the result is the result of teamwork, of the various professionals who dedicate themselves on the property and during the event to provide whatever it takes for her to enter the track at her best. “Daily, there are people to take care of her. It is a work with affection for a special animal”, he highlights.
The president of Cooperativa Castrolanda, Willem Bouwman, congratulates the exhibitors, preparers and handlers, in short, all those who remained in the pavilion doing their work to present the animals and ensure a good performance. Bouwman also thanks the Canadian judges who came to Brazil and dedicated their time to this difficult and arduous work, expressing their opinions and explaining to the public the reason for each placement on the track.
Vaca do Futuro – In addition to the best adult animal, Agroleite chooses the best young animal among the participating breeds, the Vaca do Futuro. The title went to C.R.A. Doorman Joya 2048 TE by breeder Robert Salomons from Castro-PR, an animal of the black and white variety Holstein breed. This is the creator’s second animal to earn the belt, the first time being in 2017, with C.R.A. High Octane Nely 1071.
Salomons is satisfied with the results he has achieved in this edition and it is no wonder. The two Holstein animals that competed for the Vaca do Futuro belt are from her breed. “Not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this result. We won the grand champion and reserved champion belts in both varieties of young Dutch cattle. It is the reward for the work and investments we make to develop our herd”, comments the breeder.
