Even the weather could not stop the Quest for Success III sale. What started out as a cold, wet and windy day, ended with bright skies and smiling faces. Some of the most talented people in the dairy business today came together to put on a great sale. The team of Lynn Harbaugh and Chad Ryan and their families did an outstanding job putting on the third edition of this outstanding series. The line up of animals was second to none with bids coming in from around the world and when the dust settled after selling over 100 lots the average was $8,039.
Topping the sale was lot 44 KIKO MOGUL MARA 1095, or as the legendary pedigree man, Norman Habholz likes to call her “The Mogul.” She was consigned by Garrett Schmidt and Jessica Peter and was sold $47,000. Mara is a September 2014 Mogul fresh in February. “One of the finest Two-Year-Olds to Sell This Spring was cried Norman Nabholz, that liked her so much he partnered with Garrett Schmidt to buy her.
The second highest seller of the day was lot G2 Lars-Acres Jedi Ferrari who sold for $31,000. This August 2016 S-S-I Montross Jedi daughter has a GTPI of +2839 and was consigned by Larson Acres. From the Markwell Bstar E Raven family, Ferrari has outstanding productive life (+8.1) and Daughter Pregnancy rates (+3.9).
Rounding out the top sellers was lot 4 Frohland Galaxy Contrast who sold for $30,500. This Contrast daughter had been All-American Fall Heifer Calf for Lindsay Bowen, Kevin Doeberiener and Wm. Schilling in 2016 and is in excellent shape to continue her winning ways in 2017.
