Poos Stadel Classic
http://www.landbouwleven.be – The Netherlands’ most successful red-and-white bull in the show ring, Poos Stadel Classic, passed away on Wednesday 29 August. This supplier of attractive, productive red-and-whites would have turned 13 on 5 October. Classic wrote history with a large number of champion daughters, both nationally and internationally. He even had his own website and fan club.
Classic’s legacy is huge. His daughters wrote – and still today write – history in the show ring. Whether at regional, national or international level, Classic daughters are the trendsetters in the ring. At the recent All Holland Dairy Show, Classic daughters made a great impression among young and old cows alike. Barendonk Brasilera 12 from the Hermanussen family won Junior Champion Red-and-White, and Marie 61 from the Puttenstein family in Kamperveen was crowned General Champion Red-and-White. Many other cows have gone before them over the past six years, wherever there are red-and-whites in the world. So Classic injected a considerable dose of quality into red-and-white breeding as a whole.
Special CV
The Stadel son’s life story is special. Born on Wiel Peeters’ farm by the attractive Minas, the bull was bought by Arjan Verkuijlen (now a livestock farmer in Mussel). After he had done his covering duties, Arjan sold him on to brothers Hector and Bonny van Ranst of Puurs in Belgium. When his first daughters started milking, it became clear that Classic (with 114 total confirmation) had serious qualities. CRV put him on the map and sent his semen all over the world. And he more than met the high expectations. Classic sperm is available while stocks last.
Daily massage
For many years Classic was in the OHG shed in Germany. He was looked after well there, with his own solarium, treadmill and massage equipment. Borrowed from the equestrian world, this training also caught on in breeding bull circles, which also helped to put Classic firmly in the spotlight.
He had a remarkable career, producing almost 25,000 daughters in the Netherlands and Flanders, of which no less than 25 were excellent. And this list will no doubt grow longer in the years to come. Classic has without doubt left an indelible impression on cattle breeding.
