Logan Thomas Chalack Tribute

The family of Mr. Logan Chalack sadly announces the passing of their husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle and cousin on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the age of 32 years.  A true cowman & great friend to many, its a huge loss to his family & to the dairy industry.  He was a great judge of cattle and was gifted with great cow sense. Along side his father he helped to build the Wendon Herd into what it is today. There is no place he loved to be more than at home in his barn with his cows, or spending time with his family.

Logan’s long time friend Ian Crosbie shares the following comments on Facebook:

A legend is a larger than life story that gets passed down from one generation to the next. Logan, I can’t think of a better word to describe you than this. You were a true champion in everything you did, there was no coming in second. It was all or none. Your passion and zest for life, your family, friends, and the Holstein Cow cannot be matched. You’ve inspired a group of young breeders to go full out and follow their dreams. A legend will live forever, and you my friend hold this title well.

His cousin Terra also shares these comments on Facebook:

There are no words for experiencing the loss of a family member, and this was something you can never prepare for even though you try to tell yourself you can. Logan Chalack was one of the “big” cousins that never let a family event go by without some sort of razzing, that’s just who he was and the character of our family. He’d greet you with a classic wet willy and he’d be the first to snag one of grandmas pickled carrots off your plate. Life was never dull around Logan, he was reliable, funny, and an excellent cattleman. He wore his passion for agriculture and the dairy industry on his sleeve, and sometimes a little less on his sleeve when caught on a billboard outside of Bowden with nothing on but his birthday suit! I still can’t believe it and my heart is heavy for my family, especially little Chloe and charity. Logan, your life was so full and ours was full just having you in it. We wish we could’ve had you here longer

Logan was a bright light, loved by all who knew him, a good friend to so many. There are very few of us who knew him that did not have an entertaining Logan story. A Celebration of Logan’s life will be held at the CrossRoads Church (38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County) on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Melanoma Clinic.
