The Italian sensation Zani Bolton MASCALESE has sadly passed away at the age of 8 years old

MASCALESE  had become an iconic figure in Italy, ever since his daughters first debuted, and provided a welcome alternative to many of the Goldwyn/Planet/Shottle bloodlines.

Born at the farm of Luciano Zani, just to the South of Brescia in Italy, MASCALESE was undoubtedly one of the best sons of Sandy-Valley Bolton world-wide, and was marketed conventionally and as sexed semen around the globe.

As the former Nr.1 PFT sire in Italy, MASCALESE  converted well on both sides of the Atlantic, ranking Nr.1 LPI Proven sire in Canada and also the highest ranking TY Bolton son on the TPI base.

Possessing more conformation than his sire stack indicated, (Bolton X O-Man X Adam), MASCALESE daughters are widely admired for their incredible dairy strength, and ideal rump structures. They produce a lot of milk, but from quality udders, and he can add rear rib. The first breeder reports from daughters calving in North America are extremely positive, and in Canada, over 85% are GP or better.

Capturing show winnings, production awards and creating great breeder satisfaction, whilst his career may have ended prematurely, MASCALESE has and will continue to have a major impact on the Holstein breed around the globe.
