The depth and quality in the show was undeniable.

This year, it was the Intermediate Champion who would go all the way and leave her owner, Jake Mathews, of Shady Creek speechless. Sired by the show’s Premier Sire, Burdette, Rockvale Burdette Prim bounced off Intermediate and into Grand. The other interesting result was that Rockvale Ayrshires, who didn’t show, won Premier Breeder for the second successive year. It was massive kudos to the impact the Hyland family have had on the breed.
The Junior Champion was Geelunga Tsunami P Star, owned by Geelunga Ayrshires at Echunga in South Australia. Judge Warren Ferguson of Ferdon Jersey fame, said he had a pattern he was looking for.
“She’s clean, balanced, open and full of breed character,” Warren said. “The calf was outstanding in her class. She carries herself so well and she has so much balance.”
