No effort was spared at the MilkSource Select Sale, every detail was taken care of the team put on an event that was worth the great animals from past and present that were up for sale. When it comes to putting on a first-class event no one does it better than Jim Ostrom, John Vosters and the Milksource team. With something for everyone, from drop calves with a bright future and some great donors available to make the next great one the sale average $5,800.
Topping the sale was LOT# 53 MILKSOURCE DFT LEXUS-RED-ET who sold for $44,500 to Troy and Sarah Wendorf, with Golden Oaks Holsteins contending. Nominated All-American R&W Spring Yearling in 2016, Lexus has calved in well and is certain to be one of the favorites to win at Expo later this year. From the great Hanover-Hill-R Lulu cow family.

The 2nd highest seller of the day at$40,200 was LOT# 57 GREENLEA A CARE-RED-ETS. Nominated All-American as a Senior Two-Year-old in 2016 Care-Red was purchased by Pierre Boulet. Care-Red is due in July to Awesome-Red and could be one to watch for at Expo.
An extremely promising Summing Yearling for 2017 is LOT# 13 MILKSOURCE BYWAY AFFECTION sold $23,500 to Michael Heath, Triple-T Holsteins and Will Iager. Her dam was the 6th place Milking Yearling at Expo from 2016 MS Apple Atarah who of course is a direct daughter of the legendary KHW Regiment Apple.

Another exciting calf for 2017 was LOT# 1 MILKSOURCE GLDNDRM ASSET-ET who sold for $22,500 to Blair Weeks, Parrabel Genetics, Rocky Allen, contenders where Quality Holsteins Ltd. and Agriber. Her dam is the great Weeks Dundee Anika, the Res All-Canadian and Res All-American Five Year old from 2016. This calf has the cut to show in her own right and will certain be one that has a bright bright future.
Rounding out the top five high selling lots was Lot 77 Ploesgsway Goldwyn Nuts Is U-ET EX91, due the end of April. She is a Goldwyn from an EX94-2E Talent followed by six generations of VG dams.
