The Field of Dreams Finale Sale was held Saturday, May 25th at the Fayette Co. Fairgrounds in West Union, IA. To mark the culmination of what has been a very successful series for sale manager Norman Nabholz of Nabholz Farms. The sale featured both Holsteins and Jerseys and a number of sale ‘graduates’ have gone on to have notable show ring careers. 111 lots averaged $3,298.

High seller on the day was Lot 6 at $10,000 – Stranshome Sid Skylar-ET, a 3/12 Sid that was the winning Spring Yearling at the 2013 Midwest Spring National Show. Out of Quality-Ridge Ruben Sandy (EX-94), a show winner in her own right, then three more VG & EX dams. Skylar has a number of maternal sisters that have done well in the ring and she was paired with Lot 5 – Stranshome Destry Avalon-ET, a 3/12 Destry that was the 4th place Spring Yearling at the Midwest Spring National Show. Consigned by the Stransky family of Minnesota, Skylar was purchased by Austin Yoder of GA.

2nd highest seller at $8,800 is Lot 2A RJR Sid 3273-ET, a 9/12 Sid out of RJR-BH Goldwyn 1154-ET (EX-95), who was the Grand Champion of the Iowa State Show and Iowa State Fair in 2011 and who completes six generations of EX cows from the Barbies.

  • Lot 9 – $8,600 – Budjon-JK Ashock Davina-ET, a 9/12 Aftershock out of Scientific Gold Dana Rae-ET (EX-95 2E), the Reserve All-American 5-Year-Old in 2012 from the Debutante branch of the Roxys.
  • Lot 37 – $7,100 – Fradon Jasper Jive, a VG-86 Jasper senior 3-year-old out of Fradon Gibson Jodie III (EX-91-CAN), then Fradon Rudolph Jodie (EX-2E-CAN 13*)
  • Lot 18 – $6,600 – EDG Trac Uno Tebbi 2045-ET, a 2/13 Numero Uno at +2410 GTPI out of Tranquility AC Dreary Trac-ET (GTPI +2422), an Observer out of Ronelee Boliver Dreary-ET (VG-86 DOM).
  • Lot 33 – $5,600 – Budjon-JK Ashk Get Even-ET, a junior 2-year-old Aftershock out of Rolling-Spring G Escence-ET (EX-95 2E), then EX-92 Durham Esquisite.
  • Lot 4 – $5,100 – Miss Hawaii, a *RC Goldwyn junior 3-year-old daughter of KHW Regiment Apple 2-Red-ETN (EX-91 DOM)

High selling Jersey at $7,500 was consigned by the sale host and manager Norman Nabholz – Lot J6, Nabholz Sunrise-ET, a junior 2-year-old Lencrest On Time out of Ronada Ren Suzi (EX-94 2E), who was the Reserve All-Canadian Junior 2-Year-Old in 2000. Sunrise finds a new home at Drinkall Jerseys in MN.
