Police are investigating after a tractor overturned in a pond south of Ottawa and a farmer later died in hospital.
Ottawa paramedics responded to Second Line Road near Roger Stevens Drive and Highway 416 just before 10 p.m. Wednesday for a man trapped inside the cab of a front loader, which had overturned in the farm’s manure pond.
Firefighters completed a “significant and extensive” extrication to reach the man and free him from the cab, paramedics said.
Paramedics then treated the 39-year-old with advanced resuscitation efforts on the trip to hospital.
But the man, identified as Mark Lindsay, soon died from his injuries.
