Bilingual Events & Admin Coordinator

HOLSTEIN CANADA is the largest dairy breed association in Canada with a history spanning more than 128 years and serving a membership of more than 10,000 active dairy producers. With dynamic leadership and a new vision and strategy, we are eagerly embarking on an exciting organizational rejuvenation.

We are currently seeking a Bilingual Events & Admin Coordinator to join our team.

YOU are a natural organizer and a doer. You truly enjoy planning events that are fun and current. You balance a creative flair with a strong detail-orientation and a passion for seeing projects through from start to finish. Your peers recognize you because of your work ethic, grace under pressure and because you’re simply a great team player. You prefer planning well in advance, but you can also work wonders in the moment. You love that sense of satisfaction and pride after an event runs flawlessly.

The right fit is the key for us. Your unique background includes the following essential qualifications:

  • bilingual English/French, to work with convention organizing committees across the country
  • a college diploma in a related field
  • at least 2-3 years’ experience in an administrative or coordinating position, involving
    • experience organizing large- and small-scale events within a budget, and
    • experience working with committees and with in-house partners such as Finance
  • a preference for supporting teammates who represent our brand, by coordinating details behind-the-scenes

As EVENTS & ADMIN COORDINATOR you will take on the following responsibilities:

  • extensive planning, organizing, on-site coordinating, and follow-up of two high-profile events for Holstein Canada: the National Holstein Convention/Annual General Meeting (April) and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (November)
  • shipping materials and displays to smaller local shows, setting our on-site staff up for success
  • administrative support for teammates including mailings, purchase orders, and shipping
  • organizing and maintaining the inventory of Holstein Canada promotional items

We’re based in Brantford, close to the 403; a reasonable commute from Burlington/Oakville, Hamilton, KW/Cambridge, Guelph and Woodstock. This position requires infrequent but mandatory travel within and outside of Ontario.

We are currently seeking a creative, insightful and responsible Communications Coordinator to join our team.

YOU make managing multiple deadlines and projects look easy. Your good humour and ability to connect with a wide range of people complements your strong work ethic and your drive to educate and inspire others through communications materials.

The right fit is the key for us. Your unique background includes the following essential qualifications:

  • bilingual, or strong proficiency in English/French
  • a passion for the dairy industry
  • excellent composition and writing/communications experience
  • a university degree in a related field
  • 3 or more years’ experience in a communications-related position

As COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR you will produce our bi-monthly member publication InfoHolstein and our internal staff newsletter Cowmuniqué, including writing articles, conducting interviews and leading the design. You will also be called on to edit various publications; create and issue media releases; update website content; and help to coordinate and implement the social media strategy. You will work closely with teammates in the Strategic Communications department and across Holstein Canada including association members, dairy industry partners and the media.
