Conant Acres classified 39 head on July 9, 2014 and had the following exciting results to share:
- Six new Excellent cows – all raised to Excellent in their second lactation. Four of these cows received the maximum second lactation score of EX-92. This brings our total to 16 new Excellent cows in the past three months.
- Three VG-89 two-year-olds, including a Sanchez granddaughter of 3E-95 Lustre. The others were sired by Atwood and Goldwyn.
- Two cows received multiple “E” designations, including Dirigo-Conant Malachi Ruby (2E-93), from 2E-94 Goldwyn Rusty and then back to 3E-95 Integrity Robin.
Ven-Gen Freedom (3E-95) continues to prove herself as a tremendous brood cow, as half of the new Excellent cows trace back to her. Second-calf granddaughters by Braxton and Sanchez scored EX-91 and EX-92, while her tremendous Atwood daughter also received the maximum score of EX-92 with an EX-93 Mammary.
One of the interesting young cows that we look forward to developing is Speak-NJ Sham Doozy Rae-ET, a Shamrock from Scientific Deluxe Rae (EX-91), that classified VG-86 with a VG-87 MS. Another exciting young heifer that scored VG-86 at 2-01 is Conant-Acres Gold Loryn, a fancy Goldwyn daughter of EX-92 Durham Lasso from 4E-95 Twin-Wind-TC Broker Lass.
