Chip scores Red & White titles at the Vebo Winter Show. The Spaander family from Berkhout clinched the top awards in Hazerswoude-Dorp, dominating both the black and red categories. North Holland’s renowned dairy farmers secured victory in the black with MPS Darinia (s. Chief), who was also crowned in the middle class. Darina outperformed Venne Betsy 323 (v. Reflector) from Schrama cheese farm in Rijpwetering, again proving her superiority.

The reserve title for black and white also went to Schrama cheese farm. Venne Foekje 209 (v. Lighthouse) triumphed over BWN Madelein (v. Cheers), representing the Captein-Verba family from Hazerswoude-Dorp. Once more, the Spaander family dominated the older black-and-white category with MPS Prosy Prosi (s. Sidekick), leaving Bouwina 99 (v. Silver) from Kees de Groot in Zoeterwoude behind. As expected, the Spaander family claimed the best group prize for blacks and whites.

Meanwhile, in the red category, Wendy 318 emerged again as the general champion, having previously won in Opmeer this year. Anja 100 (v. Carnival) from the Verduijn family in Kamerik secured the reserve title, mirroring her performance last month at the Woerden-Seruk show. Verduijn family’s Rovelli daughters, too, made a mark. Koosje 250 won gold, and half-sister Anja 135 took silver in the heifers’ category, showcasing Verduijn’s unbeatable business group at red and whites.

Cees de Groot’s triumph with Betje 123 (v. Stevie) marked a significant victory for the middle class. At the same time, Mathilde 137 (v. Andy) from the Ammerlaan family in Schipluiden secured the reserve champion title.

Delayed inspections were the theme this year, as the Vebo show, typically held in September in Rijpwetering, was postponed to November due to anticipated heat. The postponement decision paid off, resulting in a fiercely competitive and robustly attended event.
