One of the best lineups for public auction that the world has ever seen, the second installment of the Franchise Kind sale saw an outstanding average of $8,117 on 54 lots. One of the most talked about Jersey sales of the spring, The Franchise Kind II Sale was held on March 25th in Syracuse, NY.  The day was overcast and cool but that didn’t stop Jersey enthusiasts from filling the tent in order to take home their definition of the Franchise Kind! Hosted by Rohe Farms, the sale was managed by Dusty, Nicole & Wyatt Schirm and Aaron & Caitlin Eaton. Seven lots brought five figures or more in the sale. Chris Hill was the auctioneer while Norm Nabholz read pedigrees.

Topping the sales was Page-Crest Excitation Karlie VG-88, the All American  & All Canadian Senior 2 year old 2012, Sold in a world record package for $170,000. a package lot that included Page-Crest Excitation Karlie (VG-88 2Y), four female pregnancies, six implants and four embryos. Karlie herself sold due in June to Giprat Belles Jade-ET and is a Bridon Excitation out of an EX-90 Midnight Observer-ET with 10 of the next 11 dams VG or EX. Karlie had an outstanding year in the showring in 2012, being named 1st Sr. 2-year-old, Intermediate and HM Grand Champion at the WI Spring Show; 2nd and Reserve Intermediate Champion at the International Jersey Show; and 1st, Intermediate  and Reserve Grand Champion at the Royal Winter Fair. She was also the ABA All-American and All-Canadian Sr. 2-Year-Old 2012.  Consigned by Eaton, Piggott and Martincroft, NY & ON she was purchased by Areathusa farms of CT.

Other highlights include Woodsview Excitation Tracy VG-89, Res AA Junior 2 year old 2011, 2nd Junior 2 year old WDE ’11 and 3rd Junior 2 year old Royal ’11, Fresh Feb 1st, selling for $26,000. Tracy sold fresh and is sired by Bridon Excitation out of an VG Jewels Jurisdiction-ET with the next two dams being EX-92. Consignor by  Greta & Tera Koebel Tracey was purchased by Budjon & Peter Vail, WI & NY.  Budjon also purchased South Mountain Socrates Lavish, and was the ABA All-American and All-Canadian Fall Calf 2012 and sold due in September with an ultrasound female by Avonlea CF GT Great Balls of Fire-ET. She is a Piedmont Prize Socrates out of Arethusa Deluxe Lyric-ET (EX-92) x Silver Dreams Centr Lindy (EX-92) x Silver Dreams Faithful Lindy (VG-86) x Pals Lovely (EX-91). Lavish was consigned by Matt Bean & Anthony Raymond, PA.

The sales management team did an outstanding job.  As veteran auctioneer Norm Nabholz  pointed out they had a keen eye for great ones’, ‘you’d never find or be able to find this many good ones traveling the roads’.
