Robrook Goldwyn Cameron passes

Over this past weekend, one of the greats in the business was laid to rest….Robrook Goldwyn Cameron Ex 95.

Tim Abbott of St Jacobs Animal Breeding Corp, part owner of Cameron shares the following:

We pulled an extremely large calf from her 10 days ago and at this time Cameron re injured her leg from a previous fall.  We proceeded to treat Cameron for the injury by floating her at the farm with some success. Once we realized the extent of the damage was a possible torn ACL we took her to the UW-Madison Vet Hospital to be in the hands of the great vets and specialized equipment they have.  We scheduled surgery with hopes of correction, but her injury was to severe and her health too weak to have any chance of success.  Cameron was laid to rest on Saturday May 30th.

Cameron brought extreme joy and pride to whomever was a part of her illustrious show career, which first included being named All American & All Canadian 3 consecutive years, starting as a Jr. 2 year old.  In addition, she took home many championship banners, but none bigger than the coveted garland of roses given to the Grand Champion of the Royal Winter Fair in 2013.  Cameron continued her winning ways last spring with back to back Grand Champion honors at the New York Spring Show and then 4 days later at the Wisconsin Spring Show.

As partners in this great cow, Tom, Kelli & John Cull, Peter & Lynn Vail, Clark & Lois Woodmansee, and Tim & Sharyn Abbott, we want to congratulate and thank everyone who has been involved with Cameron. Her breeder, Robin Parrish of Ontario, Gerald Coughlin & Joel Phoenix for finding her, Gen-Com Holsteins for making Cameron available to us, and all of the members of our crew that were a part of preparing her, both at home and at the shows.  We know Cameron touched each of you in a special way.  We believe she will have an impact on the breed through her progeny and we will be excited to see her oldest daughters in the show ring this fall.  We thank the many breeders who have believed in Cameron and purchased daughters of her in the past couple years from us.

The comments since she has passed from everyone who was touched by the grace of Cameron are….“She was one of the greatest cows I ever worked with, she will be tremendously missed”.
