Wisconsin Holstein Association announces summer intern

The Wisconsin Holstein Association (WHA) is pleased to announce Allyson Stanek of Elroy, Wis, as the 2020 Communications and Events Intern. Stanek will be based out of the office in Baraboo, Wis.

Over the summer, Allyson will serve in a public relations and communications role. Her primary project will be planning and organizing the 2020 WHA All-Breeds Futurity. She will also assist in the planning of district shows and the Wisconsin Championship Show.

Allyson has been involved in the dairy industry her entire life, having grown up on her family’s dairy farm. Currently, she is building her own herd of Registered Holsteins, while continuing to help her family with chores whenever she can. Allyson was involved in both 4-H and FFA and began to exhibit dairy cattle at a young age at county and state fairs. Although she can no longer exhibit as a junior, she is still involved with mentoring kids to show at county fairs and chaperoning at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Most recently, Allyson graduated from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College with a technical diploma in Farm Operations and Management-Dairy. On campus, she was involved in F.A.R.M. Club, PAS (Professional Agricultural Students), and was also on the dairy judging team. Following her internship, her goal is to find a career as a calf/heifer manager.

During her free time, Allyson enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors and helping on the farm.
