A large crowed was on hand to see the 115 Holsteins in the Master Breeder herd of John and Alice DeVries, Willdina Holsteins, averaged an outstanding $5300, The eight Jerseys in the sale averaged $3700.

Topping the sale at $20,000 was Gen-I-Beq Brawler Lizzie (Ex-93), a 4-year-old “Brawler” from the Lylehaven Lila Z (Ex-94-19*) family who completes six generations of Excellent or Very Good. Purchased by Ferme Arthur Lacroix Ltee, Saint-Michel, Que., she had made 11,469 kg milk, 3.9% fat, 3.4% protein (240-253-256) in her last lactation and was fresh again since March 3rd. This young cow is from a Very Good-87, 11-Star “Goldwyn” daughter of Lila Z with 15,237 kg milk, 3.6% fat, 3.6% protein (331-318-367).
Ferme Lafourgere Inc., Compton, Que., paid $13,800 for the 2nd highest seller of the day. Snowbiz McCutchen Chloe. A ”McCutchen” bred heifer from the Barbie family who is due in August to “Doorman”. Chloe is from a Very Good-88-2y “Snowman” dam with 18,889 kg milk, 4.2% fat, 3.1% protein (383-442-368) who completes ten generations of Very Good or Excellent. The second dam is Regancrest S Chassity-ET (Ex-92-USA-DOM-GMD-16*).
Blondin Vanhaven Havegold (Ex-93), a 4-year-old “Goldwyn” who completes six generations of Excellent or Very Good, sold for $13,500 to Kirk Stockdale, Keene, Ont. Projected to 11,384 kg milk and BCA’s of 217-204-201%, she carried a short service to “Solomon”. Her “Jasper” dam, Shylane Jasper Harriet (Ex-95-2E-1*), was nominated for All-American mature cow in 2012.
