Turlock authorities look for stolen bull semen

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for thieves who stole $50-thousand worth of bull semen from a farm in Turlock.

Tanks filled with the product were stolen out of the back of a lab technician’s truck on Sunday night. The owners say it’s from ‘top of the line’ bulls. They say the bull semen is shipped to farms around the world and the amount stolen could impregnate more than a thousand cows.

“You’re trying to make a living. The loss of all those units of semen, and probably taken by someone who had no idea what they were stealing, is very frustrating,” said Anthony Reis.

Investigators say the semen must be handled by professionals and can be dangerous. So far there is no word on any suspects.
