CanWest DHI and Valacta announced the 2015 top 10 herds in Canada, as measured by the Herd Management Score. For the first time, the calculations were done at the national level amongst a total of 8,500 herds.
The Herd Management Score allocates points for performance in six different management areas and is an excellent barometer of overall herd performance. It is a great tool for monitoring progress from year to year and also allows herds to benchmark themselves against others.
The top 10 herds who have achieved superior performance across all aspects of herd management are:
