Servin Joins All-West Team in California

All-West-Servin[1]All-West Select Sires is pleased to announce the addition of Jose Servin to the reproductive specialist team. Jose brings a unique background to All-West with 25 years of experience under his belt. Born and raised in a small town in Mexico, Jose said he was destined to work with cows. “I have a very large family, but we didn’t grow up on a farm. Two of my cousins became agronomists and as I watched them work, I knew I wanted to do something with agriculture, and in particular, with dairy cows. This didn’t surprise my family, as they told me my grandmother used to milk when she was a teenager.”

This “calling” remained with Jose and when he completed his initial schooling, he went on to an agricultural school and eventually obtained his veterinary degree.

Jose has done extensive training breeding cows, doing ultrasound and herd checks, and testing mastitis cultures. He was also a herd manager for a dairy in Mexico. “When I trained people in the past on how to breed cows, I always relied on information from Select Sires. Their training and education is very specific, very organized and extremely informative.”

“It’s easy to breed cows when you love this job and know what you’re doing, and I love helping producers resolve reproductive issues. I’ve known for over 30 years that this is what I wanted to do!”

Jose and his wife relocated to California in 2001. They have three children ages 23, 21 and 19.

He began working as a relief technician with All-West in early May.
