Following extensive consultation, and with the cooperation of the TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic committee, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Toronto, Ontario, announced on April 21st some changes to the Classic venue and schedule for 2016.
As part of the mandate to improve exhibitor experience, The Royal announced last week their plans to expand and relocate the Ring of Excellence. The new Ring of Excellence will be 90% the size of the Ricoh Coliseum with 50% more seating than the current Ring of Excellence, along with added hospitality suites and live streaming of all livestock events, among other enhancements. As part of this change, they have also adjusted the livestock show schedule to relieve congestion in the barn on opening weekend and improve safety for exhibitors and urban visitors alike. As a result, The Royal has confirmed that the 2016 TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic will take place on Tuesday, November 8 and Wednesday, November 9 in the new Ring of Excellence.
It is believed this new venue and schedule will draw a larger audience for the Classic, improve the experience for youth dairy exhibitors and benefit the Fair overall. Fully realizing that some of you may have already made travel and vacation plans based on the Classic’s 2015 schedule, the Royal sincerely apologizes for that. Changing the show schedule and venue has been a long and complex process involving dairy, beef and many other stakeholders. The Royal expresses sincere appreciation for the cooperation of the Classic committee in this change. The Royal and the Classic committee will be in touch over the next few weeks about the details of the 2016 TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic.
