Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Appoints New CEO


Charlie%20Johnson[1]The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is pleased to announce Charlie Johnstone, former president of Honda Indy Toronto, as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Johnstone is a Toronto native with an extensive track record of executive leadership organizing national and international spectator events.

“Throughout his career Charlie has consistently proven he is skilled at spearheading large-scale events that deliver a memorable experience for visitors, participants and sponsors,” said Paul Larmer, President and Chairman of the Board of The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. “We are extremely pleased to welcome him to The Royal and look forward to working with him to organize another fantastic Fair this November.”

Johnstone has served as president of the Honda Indy Toronto since 2005, where his primary responsibilities included oversight of sales, marketing and operations of one of North America’s most-respected motorsport events. Johnstone previously founded and operated a successful sports marketing and communications firm whose enviable client list included some of Canada’s most prolific brands and events.

“I’m very proud to be joining The Royal, which has meant so much to generations of visitors for more than nine decades,” Johnstone said. “The Royal is a storied Canadian brand with a long and successful tradition of delivering world-class competition, entertainment and agricultural education, which continues to resonate with both Canadian and International visitors.”

The 93rd annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair takes place from November 6-15, 2015 at Exhibition Place.
