New Chairman takes the helm at Holstein UK

Following Holstein UK’s AGM last weekend (17 October) at Malvern a new chairman has taken the helm at the UK’s largest breed Society.
Taking on the role of chairman of the board of trustees is long-standing board member Andrew Dutton representing the North Midlands area.
Mr Dutton, a well respected board member and Holstein breeder, said it was an honour and a privilege to be elected to the chairman’s role at this important time in the history of Holstein UK and at a critical time for the UK dairy sector.
“Holstein UK is an organisation with a long and distinguished history and I look forward to building on the strength of its past achievements to help drive it and its subsidiary companies, CIS and CDI, forward for the benefit of Holstein members and the wider dairy industry.”
Paying tribute to outgoing chairman John Edge, Mr Dutton said it would be a tough act to follow. “John’s commitment to Holstein UK has been unstinting and if I can achieve half what he has I will feel I have achieved an immense amount.”
Stepping into the role of president of the Society is well known breeder Randolph Miller of the Moorshard herd. Mr Miller is well known throughout the industry and the Holstein world for his dedication to breeding functional cattle with exceptional type and performance.
Commenting after taking on the presidential role, Mr Miller said he looked forward to meeting members across the UK in his new position. “The UK is lucky to have so many leading breeders dedicated to the Holstein breed. Over the next 12 months I look forward to seeing many of them and their exceptional cattle at events that mass the length and breadth of the country.”
We would also like to welcome in our new President Elect Mr David Tomlinson who will take over from Randolph once his term completes.
Also joining the Holstein UK board of trustees are Mark Nutsford and Michael Smale, representing the North Western and Far Western  areas.
