NAAB Doak Graduate Fellowship


The NAAB Doak Graduate Fellowship is a unique opportunity for individuals planning to pursue a career in the bovine genetic improvement industry to earn a Master of Science degree in bovine genetics or bovine male reproduction physiology. This is intended for individuals who have long term aspirations in the genetic improvement industry as exemplified by Dr. Gordon Doak, who dedicated 42 years to developing NAAB programs. The fellowship is open to any candidate who has completed a 4-year degree and seeks an advanced degree at a major US university with an approved research project under the guidance of a mutually agreeable advisor.

Fellowship Details

Requirements: Student is expected to complete a Master of Science degree through an approved university with an approved mentor/advisor. Must have a B.S. in related field from an accredited university.

Duration:Two-year Master of Science program.

Award: Award would include research assistantship, tuition, fringe benefits plus lab and research supplies up to a total amount of $50,000 per year. This fellowship will be awarded to the institution,on behalf of the selected student. The National Association of Animal Breeders does not pay indirect costs on this fellowship.

Industry Experience: Award recipient will be considered a full time student but would be expected to attend and participate in specific NAAB and industry related activities/events.

Application Deadline: December 1, 2018 for Fall 2019 enrollment.
