Milk Futures and Cash Dairy Prices Higher


Chicago Mercantile Exchange class three milk futures were sharply higher Thursday, with most of the strength concentrated in the February through December 2015 contracts.

Over in the spot market, cash cheese was higher. Barrels were up two and three quarters cents at $1.5025. The last bid unfilled was on one load at the closing price. Blocks were two and three quarters higher at $1.5125. The last bid unfilled was on one load at that price.

Double a butter was six and three quarters higher at $1.7050. There were six sales, with four loads selling at $1.7025. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $1.7050.

Grade a nonfat dry milk was three cents higher at $1.0650. There were nine loads sold, three at $1.0525, and two each at $1.0350, $1.04, and $1.0650. The last bid unfilled was for one load at the closing price.
