Early Sunday morning firemen where called out to Green Meadow Farms in Elsie, MI. Devastating fire Started in their maternity barn. The farm is owned and managed by Velmar and Margaret and their children. Craig, his wife Darcy, and Margie. They are a 3rd generation family owned dairy farm that was started in 1922. They currently milking 3,000 cows and farming about 6,000 acres.
They posted they following on their Facebook page thanking, all involved:
We would like to thank all of the brave firemen and farm staff for helping with a devastating fire in our maternity barn early this morning. Thank you also for the dedicated employees coming together today and in the weeks to come to help clean up and rebuild. Without all of you, this terrible situation could have been a lot worse!
