Authorities are investigating the cause of a barn fire that injured a Plum City man and killed several head of dairy cattle in western Wisconsin last week.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the blaze happened on a farm near Plum City on Thursday evening in the town of Union.
Reports say 24-year-old Joshua Benck sustained injuries as a result of the fire and was taken to an area hospital.
A number of farm animals were also injured, with several perishing in the fire.
Deputies say the barn housed about 50 cattle during the time of the fire.
