Holstein UK is inviting entries for this year’s All Britain Awards, with all prize winners in qualifying classes during 2015 eligible to enter.
With a high calibre of Holsteins exhibited any many of the leading summer shows and specialist dairy events this year, Holstein UK’s Carl Smith says the standard in this year’s awards should be as high as ever.
“There’s no doubt the standard of cattle being entered in the All Britain awards has been high in recent years, but the strength in depth seen in the breed this year at many shows has been exceptional and I expect a great selection of animals to be nominated for the judges to select from.”
Entries should be submitted by 4 January and be accompanied by either a colour or black and white photograph taken during the 2015 show season, explains Mr Smith.
Entry forms can be downloaded and should be returned either by email to to marketing@holstein-uk.org or by post to All Britain Awards, Scotsbridge House, Scots Hill, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, WD3 3BB.
“I’d encourage anyone who feels they have a suitable animal to enter them. The All Britain Awards are a great way to raise a herd’s profile and showcase the best of British Holsteins,” added Mr Smith.
Award winners will be announced at the All Britain dinner which will be held in Carlisle on 12 March following UK Dairy Expo. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased by contacting the event organisers, Harrison and Hetherington.
