The 46th edition of the Llanera Cattle Exhibition-Contest was held at the fairgrounds of the Asturian town this weekend. Among the participating calves and heifers, Judge Claire Swale, assisted by Giuseppe Beltramino, opted for Iglesias Sira Unix, from the Manuel Ángel Iglesias Suárez (Llanera) herd, as champion calf, and for Otura 5287, from Violeta Garrido Cabeza (Llanera ), as a champion heifer. In the grand final, the calf managed to win the title of champion.
In the cow sections, Parlero Wilson Helectra, from Ganadería Parlero SC (Valdés), won the young champion cow award; Flora Jacoby Lis ET, from Lanadería Flora SC (Valdés), was chosen as champion intermediate cow and Flora Alexander Dafne, from Lanadería Flora SC, prevailed over the adult cows. Flora Jacoby Lis ET swept the grand finale and took the prize for best udder and great cow champion. The title of best herd went to the Badiola Holstein (Gozón) herd.
