DeLaval prepares to showcase innovations which efficiently monitor both herd health and on-farm dairy operations at World Ag Expo

At DeLaval, being innovative is in our blood and milking is more than just a profession, milk is our life. Visitors to World Ag Expo in Tulare California next month are invited to find out how new DeLaval innovations will help make life as a dairy farmer easier and more productive.

Accurate herd health monitoring and management is fundamental to the DeLaval four pillars of sustainable dairy farming. This initiative is a unique approach where, as a company, DeLaval teams up with customers, authorities and the scientific community to incorporate optimal resource efficiency integration into revolutionary product development. DeLaval is committed to continually delivering a growing number of innovative smart technologies solutions worldwide. Many innovations incorporate mobile device access functionalities which underscore the importance of immediate precise reporting, monitoring and managing.

During World Dairy Expo 2015 in February, DeLaval will showcase the following key innovations:

DeLaval Body Condition Scoring (BCS) System – *Awarded WAE Top-10 new products
The Body Condition Scoring System automatically delivers daily scoring of your cows helping to improve your cow health and feed strategy. Knowing the body condition score of your cows can help you plan feeding to ensure your cows have healthy body fat reserves thus promoting milk production, reproductive efficiency and cow longevity.

* World Ag Expo’s Top-10 New Products competition.
The winners will be showcased February 10-12, 2015 during the 48th annual World Ag Expo in Tulare, California. A group of judges made up of farmers, ranchers and industry professionals selected the Top-10 New Products. http://www.worldagexpo.com/world-ag-expo-announces-2015-top-10-new-produ…

DeLaval cell counter ICC
A quick and easy tool to measure somatic cell count in milk. The device, or the ICC, is used together with an iPhone or iPod Touch and the “DeLaval ICC” App. This is an easy, cow side somatic cell counter tester “in your pocket”. The ICC test is very fast, and instantly gives you a somatic cell count (SCC) value and a picture of the sample. It takes about 45 seconds to take a test. All you need is the ICC device, the app on an iPhone or iPodTouch (not supplied), and a cassette.

The ICC can be used cow side, for example in the parlour or barn. You can have it in your pocket to be able to sample cows at any time. The result can be stored on the iPhone, sent by e-mail or synchronized to other Apple devices. Managing udder health has never been so easy.

DeLaval Farm Monitoring Camera FMC-IP1
Real-time monitoring helps you keep an eye on your important farm operations. The HD supervision camera comes with a recording option and motion detection to make sure that you don’t miss out on anything. It can be accessed wirelessly from your Smartphone, tablet or computer with additional features such as sound available as well as a night vision.

NPE-Free products
Today, NPE is generating increased concern within the global food chain and quickly becoming an international trade issue. Fortunately, most of our products are already NPE-free and we have NPE-free options in all our product categories. As a leading supplier of udder health solutions, DeLaval offers dairy producers NPE Free options. “All DeLaval and West Agro products including iodine teat dips are NPE-Free and have been for 30 years” states Thomas Hemling, DeLaval Global Manager of R&D. Dr. Hemling adds “Universal Brand products are expected to be NPE Free by early 2015”. This strategy aligns with the DeLaval vision, “we make sustainable food production possible” and provides DeLaval with the opportunity to contribute to food production and to food producers in a sustainable way while improving food production and the overall well being of people and animals involved
